AUTUMN 2018

LYKKERUS

Scenario:
To develop a place for drug addicts in Bergen where they could feel safe, equal and happy and at the same time
achieve a sense of accomplishment.

The pre-bachelor project included userexaminations, experimenting and developing, work drawings,

visualizations and scale models. Project period: 10 weeks.

How:
By using different design techniques, methods and tools in order to
visualize the concept the best way possible. Through the whole prosess I was focusing a lot on experimenting and developing.

Lykkerus:

Lykkerus (eng. trans: bliss) is an acitivity centre mainly for drug addicts but also other people in general. The reason why I decided to make an activity centre was because I realized there was a need for it. The aim in terms of the drug addicts, is that the need of drug is covered by doing extreme sport activities. In Lykkerus you will find an 8 meter high climbing wall with associated climbing islands, a roller glider which twists and twirls through the back of the building and several relaxing zones. The thought behind the concept is that the activities will work the same way as dopamine works on the brain and help the addicts in the right direction.

Lykkerus is supposed to be a social arena where joy and a sense of achievement can be accomplished through physical activity. It is a place where your limits are put into test and where lykkerus easily occurs.

Exhibited at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2019
